Crybble Wars and other io games: similarities and differences
Updated 2026-10-07
Crybble Wars is an io game for the web and Telegram: a shared arena, a bubble that grows by eating food, the big eating the small. You can play on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install. What sets it apart from other games in the genre is money: in a paid match it sits in your bubble, and you can walk away with it or lose it.
Games in the genre
Io games are multiplayer games with simple rules: you open a link, and a few seconds later you are on a shared map with other players. The best known:
| game | what you play as |
|---|---|
| agar.io | a cell: you eat dots and cells smaller than you |
| slither.io | a snake: you grow by eating and die if you run head-first into another snake |
| diep.io | a tank: you shoot shapes and other tanks, and gain levels and upgrades |
| paper.io | a square: you draw a line around patches of the field and add them to your territory |
| hole.io | a hole: you swallow objects on a city map and grow |
What games in the genre have in common
- They start in seconds, with no install and no long sign-up.
- One map for many players, and the action is in real time.
- The rules are clear from one look at the screen: move, grow, and stay away from anyone stronger.
- You start small. The longer you live, the bigger you are and the higher you are on the leaderboard.
- When you die, you start again from zero.
- They are free to play; what is at stake is your place on the leaderboard.
A free match in Crybble Wars works the same way.
What is familiar if you have played games like these
| what | how it works in Crybble Wars | page |
|---|---|---|
| Controls | on a computer the mouse steers the bubble, Space splits, W shoots mass; on a phone there is a joystick and buttons | “Controls” |
| Growing by eating | dots on the map give mass | “Items on the map” |
| The big eat the small | you must be at least 10% heavier and cover more than half of the other bubble | “How the game works” |
| Splitting | half of the bubble dashes forward, and later the parts merge | “Moves” |
| Cover from big bubbles | the hamster works like a virus in agar.io: a small bubble hides behind it, a big one gets torn apart | “Items on the map” |
What works differently in Crybble Wars
| what | how it works | page |
|---|---|---|
| Money in the bubble | the amount of a paid entry sits in the bubble. If you are eaten, it drops onto the map as a chest, and another player picks it up | “Chests and your money” |
| Entry | free, or 1, 30, 100 CBW. There is one map for everyone; your entry decides which chests you can take | “The map and your entry” |
| Exit | through the house button, with a 10 second countdown. After it, the money from your bubble goes to your balance | “Leaving the map” |
| The target rule | the first chest picked up in a match closes the exit and the range for 5 minutes; for the last 3 minutes the player is marked on the mini-map as a target | “The hunt and the exit” |
| Revival | a player with a cheaper entry than yours cannot eat you for good: you come back with your money, up to three times per match | “Chests and your money” |
| Projectiles | the bomb and the freeze: you pick them up on the map and fire them | “Items on the map” |
| Guilds and raids | a team of up to 32 players with a shared treasury; a raid is a one-on-one fight against another guild’s Guardian | “Guilds”, “The Guardian and raids” |
| Shooting range and Gift Miner | two sections where the result is decided by luck | “The shooting range”, “Gift Miner” |
| Characters | a character has a level; a player creates their own character from a description and sells it in the shop | “Characters”, “Creating a character” |
| Withdrawal | CBW on your balance can be withdrawn from 100 CBW | “Withdrawing money” |
Where to start
A free match costs no money: the steps are on the “Your first 10 minutes” page. The game is for players over 18. A paid entry, range bets and purchased pickaxes can all be lost in full (see “Disclaimer”).
