Chests and your money

Updated 2026-10-07

Where chests come from

  • A player with a paid entry, or a part of their bubble, was eaten.
  • A player with a paid entry closed the game or lost connection and did not come back.
  • The arena laid out range chests (see “The shooting range”).

Free players and bots drop no chests: they carry no money.

Denomination, amount, size

Money you pick up keeps the denomination it came with. Example: you entered for 100 CBW and picked up an orange chest with 1 CBW. If you are eaten, two chests drop: a gold one with 100 CBW and an orange one with 1 CBW. A player with a 1 CBW entry can take the orange one too.

The more money a chest holds, the bigger it is: up to 1 CBW it is the smallest, and from 1000 CBW it is twice as wide.

Range chests come in the same denominations and are taken by the same rule.

Chests move

Every three and a half minutes a chest moves to a random point on the map. The map holds up to 55 chests; when there are more, chests of the same denomination are merged.

Chests are not shown on the mini-map. To go back for your chest after you die, you have to remember the spot and come in with an entry no lower than before.

The first chest closes the exit

The first chest you pick up in a match closes the exit from the map and the shooting range for a while. A chest with your own money that you took back after being eaten counts the same way. For the rule, see “The hunt and the exit”.

Revival

If you are eaten by a player whose entry is cheaper than yours, 6 seconds later you come back in the same place as a single bubble. Your money is intact. They get the mass, the points and the XP.

revivalhow much mass comes back
first80% of your mass at the moment of death
second60%
third40%

You get three revivals per match. What is closed after a revival is covered in “The hunt and the exit”.

Example: a player with a cheaper entry eats you three times in a row, and you do not grow between deaths. You are left with 80% × 60% × 40% — about 19% of your original mass. The fourth death is final, whoever eats you: your money drops onto the map.

A free player does not revive.

Questions and answers

I was eaten on a 30 CBW entry and came back in for 1 CBW. Can I take my chest? No. The chest with your money has a denomination of 30, so for a 1 CBW entry it is locked.

I ate a player and no chest dropped. Why? They were playing for free, or their entry is more expensive than yours. In the second case they come back in 6 seconds with their money.
